Postcard shows quarry stick of the Two Man slate quarry in Poultney, VT. Color image shows quarry stick with trees on either side. Card is dated July 6 and reads, "Dear Mabelle, Though I would drop you a line. We are here at Lake Bomoseen for 3 wks. My mother will enjoy her self. We have a nice cabin right on the lake. Frank + I do a lot of fishing. Hope you are well. Write some time as we love to hear how you are. Love, Eunice, Frank + Mrs. Deo". Postcard has a three-cent James Monroe stamp and is addressed to Mrs. Mabelle Harvey of 280 Margaret St., Plattsburg, NY. Postmarked from Fair Haven, VT on July 8, 5:30 pm, 1959. |
