Anna Labas was a Carpatho-Rusyn immigrant from Slovakia who originally settled in the Alley in Granville with her husband, John. They lived in a longhouse in the Alley for several decades and had several sons. After the boys returned from miltary service during WWII, they sold enough slate to buy their mother this house.
